Evil Spirits All Over?! (Part 1)
Mai meets Naru while exchanging ghost stories with her friends, and learns her school principal has hired him to investigate an allegedly haunted school building. Mai later causes the injury of Naru's assistant and is forced to stand in as a temporary replacement. The principal also brings in several exorcists and mediums, and more help arrives in the form of a classmate of Mai's, who claims to have the ability to sense spirits.
Evil Spirits All Over?! (Part 2)
Each member of the team proposes a different theory as to what is responsible for the odd occurrences. After collecting data overnight, Naru begins to doubt the presence of any spirits and instead theorises that land subsidence is the cause of all the ghostly activity. Mai's classmate, Kuroda, fiercely insists that a poltergeist is at work, and evidence appearing to support her idea soon arises.
Evil Spirits All Over?! (Part 3)
After disappearing for a night, Naru conducts an experiment involving all those associated with the case. He implants a hypnotic suggestion in their minds regarding a chair in a sealed room moving overnight. His experiment proving successful, Naru reveals his explanation for the latest developments, correctly accusing one of the group of mimicking a poltergeist's acts. After the conclusion of the case, Naru offers Mai a part-time job at the SPR, which she accepts.
FILE 2: The Doll House #1
The SPR team, joined by the exorcists and mediums from the previous case, are requested at a house where poltergeist-like activity has been taking place. Soon after their arrival, the ghostly occurrences escalate, leading Bou-san to conclude the house is haunted by something more than a mere poltergeist. A young girl in the family, Ayami, exhibits strange behavior, claiming her doll Minnie has been speaking to her. The SPR team observe Minnie closely, with disturbing results.
FILE 2: The Doll House #2
Ayami reveals Minnie has been exerting a strict control over her, punishing her whenever she breaks a promise to Minnie. The team believes the doll is being used as a vessel by a spirit. After Ayami is involved in a near-fatal accident, Naru discovers previous residents of the house have been plagued with frightening incidents, all resulting in the death of young children.
FILE 2: The Doll House #3
After a failed attempt to exorcise the spirits of the dead children, a well appears in the middle of the living room. Mai is pulled into the well by a malevolent spirit during a second exorcism. While unconscious, she sees the abduction of a little girl and the subsequent suicide of the child's distraught mother. With this new knowledge, the team is able to cleanse the spirits of the woman and children, restoring peace to the old house.
FILE 3: The After School Hexer #1
The SPR are asked to handle a case at the Yuasa High School, where a series of unusual events are seemingly related to a cursed desk and a haunted clubroom. Rumours circulating the school population implicate a girl with psychokinesis, who had previously vowed to 'curse to death' all the doubters of her gifts.
FILE 3: The After School Hexer #2
The team arrive at the conclusion that the sheer number of occurrences at the school would require a psychic power far greater than anyone could possibly possess. Coupled with Masako's insistence the school houses no spirits, Naru begins to believe someone is using a form of voodoo, calling on gods to carry out their desires. The discovery of human-like dolls under the desk and in the clubroom seem to confirm this.
FILE 3: The After School Hexer #3
Evidence against the psychokinetic girl, Kasai, begins to pile up. Mai refuses to believe Kasai is responsible, despite Bou-san and Ayako's beliefs to the contrary, saying she has a feeling within her that Kasai is innocent. While searching for more dolls, Mai is lured to an open manhole by the ghost of a crying child. Naru fails to save her from falling in and instead, they both find themselves inside the hole.
FILE 3: The After School Hexer #4
Bou-san, Ayako, and Mai destroy the dolls, effectively removing the 'curse' on the school. Naru is sent to the hospital as a result of the manhole accident, where he makes a startling revelation regarding the past of someone at the school. He clears Kasai's name, but is forced to accuse someone close to her in the process. After the case, the team return to the SPR, where Naru successfully tests Mai for psychic abilities.
Okay well this was a very enjoyable horror, mystery anime with points that made me keep thinking what is going to happen next is a character really going to be killed or something? WELL OF COURSE NOT!. The anime is broken up into 7 cases which each have about 3-4 episodes all of these are taken up by the Psychic Research Center which call in every other ghost hunter you could say. Every case has its own twist or plot line which made me feel that every cases was just a separate season altogether. As for the characters well as follows there is a near useless girl, a paranormal investigator, his assistant, a near useless shrine priestess, a monk, a jealous spirit medium and an Australian priest and another assistant. As for sound effects camera angles and ghostly voices they all do really well to increase the tension or the fright factor of every scene for example the scene with the guy in the bath tub of blood, every camera angle and sound effect manged to scare me. As for enjoyment I really enjoyed this anime there were some bits of humor here and there and each suspenseful moment kept me watching right until the end. I highly recomend this anime for any one looking for a small horror or mystery anime
Ghost Hunt Where to begin? Lets begin with the positives and we'll work ourselves into the negatives. The positives: Each arc is very interesting, I watched this entire series in a day with my friend and did not find myself bored once. At the end of one episode we were so eager for the next one we skipped the credits, it showed us the end of disk screen and we both screamed 'WHAT?' so there was no point i was really disinterested in the show itself. The animation isn't gorgeous but it's nothing too bad either, it's standard at best but that's not bad. each character looks great and the scenery is fine. The use of camera angles and darkened tones is effective, there is no point i found myself screaming in terror but there were creepy moments. I only watched the show in English so i can't say much for the Japanese voice acting but the dub was stellar. Every character seemed to fit the voice they were given and even things like John's Australian accent didn't seem out of place. The soundtrack was decent and since my friend skipped the opening every time i didn't get to form an opinion on it. The problems with this show lie mainly with it's characters, and all of the problems with them could of been fixed with the show being longer. Most if not all of the characters are severely underdeveloped, we know next to nothing about any of them by the end of the series and by the time we start learning anything it's too late. overall it's a good watch, something i certainatly want in my collection. Just, wish it could of been a little longer so we could of fleshed out the characters more.
I fell in love with this anime almost instantly. It's mix between terrifying, paranormal activity, suspense, comedy relief, and the tiny bit of romance (well it's more of just a crush) is perfectly balanced to pull you right it. Each case brings on a whole new challenge, and a different part of the supernatural world. Definately one of my new favorites.
Excellent Horror mystery, one of the few that gave me chills
**Story** First, let’s talk about genres. Like any other person who’s about to sit down and watch something called “Ghost Hunt,” I expected it to be really scary and maybe even bloody. Ghost Hunt *did *have those moments, but a lot of it was also focused on comedy and even a bit of romance, as the series *is* a shoujo anime. Luckily, the comedy was actually pretty funny, and it didn’t get in the way of the actual scary scenes. However, it’s not the comedy or the horror that really shines in Ghost Hunt, but the mystery. The mysteries were entertaining and mostly unpredictable, but not in a way that just left you without anything to go on. The background stories of the numerous ghosts and spirits that they met were just as intriguing as the journey to get rid of the ghosts. The only flaw in Ghost Hunt’s story is that it doesn’t have an over-arcing plot. Instead, it is split up into different cases that take from one episode to four episodes. I call it a flaw because I know some people don’t like it, but I personally loved this aspect of the series. Ghost Hunt has this peculiar atmosphere, that is both lighthearted and creepy at the same time. I really love this atmosphere, but I’m not sure how to describe it other than with the word “autumn.” The whole series does not take place in autumn, there’s even a Christmas episode, but it just gives off that kind of feeling. **Animation** I love the animation and style in Ghost Hunt. It doesn’t have that overbearingly detailed shoujo art style, but somehow still looks shoujo. The only problem I have with the animation doesn’t really have to do with the animation itself, but with the fact that the opening/ending animation is sort of boring. The character designs were pretty nice, definitely much better than the original light novel’s designs… no offense. **Sound** The music, composed by Toshio Masuda, is really awesome. The opening and ending themes have a very Danny Elfman-like feeling to them, and that’s a huge compliment, because Danny Elfman is awesome. The music is fitting and nice to listen to on it’s own, and there are both bright, happy pieces for the comedy scenes and creepy, suspenseful tracks for the more serious scenes. Ghost Hunt has a great soundtrack. **Characters** There are a lot of characters in Ghost Hunt, and they are all unique and make for a fun cast. The main ghost-hunting group consists of seven people. Mai is the main character, and rather than being annoying and useless like I expected, she ended up being a fairly good ghost hunter, and someone who was really fun to watch. Shibuya, (AKA Naru, for narcissistic), is another one of the main characters, and to be honest, he starts off as being quite the douchebag. In fact, he’s basically an emotionless, mysterious jerk when the anime first starts. But later on, he develops to be a bit more friendly. See, Ghost Hunt has some pretty good character development. It’s not particularly in depth or anything, but it’s still something. The other five in the group are Lin, the quiet and rude assistant of Shibuya who doesn’t end up becoming any friendlier; Masako, the calm and mature TV medium; Takigawa, the friendly and loveable monk; John, the good-nature Australian priest; and Ayako, the hot-bloode Shinto priestess. The group becomes a family of sorts, and it’s actually really comforting and heartwarming to watch their interactions. **Enjoyment** I absolutely love Ghost Hunt. The mysteries and the atmosphere and the loveable characters make for something worthy of being watched every year, come October. **Final Conclusion: 10/10 **(I am easily impressed. But remember, this final conclusion is based off of enjoyment!)
It is a really good anime if you are into mystery or the supernatural. Even if you don't like romance, there is some really good moments, though they are few and far in between. The early episodes are good, but it gets more interesting around the second story. After you learn more about the characters and their abilities and personalities. It's really easy to take your time and enjoy this anime. Tech:The episodes are based in chapters or case files. Which is a great idea, having 3-4 episodes per story. I haven't really seen this before watching it. So it is a nice change to have them restricted to a few episodes.Having said that it would of been nice to have more episodes to see more development of the characters. The animation is done very well from the backgrounds to the character animation. It seems to just flow with the story at a nice pace. Each character has its own style based on their certain profession. Conclusion :The only thing is that they wrapped it up really quickly. I wish that they would make more of this anime or this type of anime. If you like the story check out the manga, because I think there is more content. Some of the stories can get a little sad and one gets really dark. But don't let that discourage you from watching this anime. I recommend this as a long term anime watching the stories in bits to enjoy the story.

(I try to keep my reviews short and sweet and straight to the point without giving away spoilers with that said lets get this show on the road) This anime had potential to be something more however I felt like they took short cuts. Character development was zero but overall enjoyable. This show has 1\. Supernatural (They fight/slay ghost, spirits and monster) 2\. No gore/blood (A little here and there both nothing special) 3\. No romance (Nothing heavy except for crushes) 4\. Action ( They fight the supernatural) 5\. Comedy (Little jokes nothing to take over the main reason of the anime) Overall 14+ should watch this anime. Anime is good if you are now starting to break through in the anime world. There is nothing special about this anime it is decent. 7/10
